Everywhere you go there is an opportunity to read. Obviously, some places are better than others when it comes to reading. For example, I can no longer read in a car without being carsick and when I was younger I loved to read at home basketball games, even though my mom said I was being rude. So here’s a list, in no particular order, of some of the best places to read a book.
In a reading nook
You can just snuggle up with a good book and prepare for a lazy day.
In a hammock
You're laying in the shade of a tree, gently rocking in the breeze
In a comfy chair
You're curled up in a chair, letting your mind escape to far off places.
On a swing
My all time favorite place to read is in a hammock, hands down. My childhood is filled with memories of my grandma's house that overlooks Lake Michigan, and nothing is better than swaying in a hammock that overlooks a giant, beautiful lake. Perfect spot to read.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite place to read is either in my bed or in a comfortable chair. I can read almost anywhere, but like you I can't read in the car because I get motion sickness. I wish I could read in the car, it would make long car rides way more interesting for me!
ReplyDeleteI love this, the pictures are fantastic! I follow a couple boards on Pinterest that focus on cool places to read all over the world. I would do almost anything to get that cozy reading nook/bed, its absolutely perfect. If I had to choose a favorite spot to read, I would probably say curled up in a chair or on the couch at my house.
ReplyDeleteFor me, reading in bed just doesn't do. When I was a kid, whenever I did not want to do homework, (and wasn't allowed to watch tv), I sat in front of my desk and read "non-text books." So, I kind of developed the habit to sit with my back straight and read in front of a desk. And I enjoy that.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is it only me who thought about the toilet?
ReplyDeleteNo, Mei, absolutely not! I will read anywhere, especially in the car (while riding obviously).
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kelsey: a hammock. I had a hammock in my bedroom that was made for me by one of my dad's friends, and I would sit there for hours with my windows open in my bedroom, finishing all of the books I'd gotten from the library. My other favorite place is in the woods. My neighbor and I built a giant fort from scattered tree limbs after a storm (complete with a "bathroom" and mailbox!), and I would go there to read all the time in the summer, protected from the sun by the shade of the trees.
ReplyDeleteI never knew how much I needed a reading nook in my life until now. My bed just seems so inadequate after seeing that.
ReplyDeleteHistorically, I've done most of my reading in bed or on the couch, but I've also done a significant amount in workplace break rooms. I prefer my bed. At least, I did until I saw that nook.
